Article Title: The title must be clear, informative, and provide an overview of the community engagement activity. The title should not exceed 15 words.
Author Names and Affiliations: Author names should be written in full without academic titles, accompanied by their institutions, institutional addresses, and email addresses. If there are multiple authors, one author must be marked (*) as the corresponding author. The email address of each author should be provided, although in the final layout, only the email address of the corresponding author will be displayed.
Abstract: The abstract should be written in both Indonesian and English. It should begin with a sentence that describes the GAP of your research. Next, the abstract is continued with research objectives, research methods, results, and conclusions. At the end of the abstract, the implications of this research need to be stated. The abstract is written briefly in no more than 150 words for each Indonesian and English. Written in Georgia font size 10pt. Abstract in Bahasa is not necessary for an author from outside of Indonesia. Keywords are written after the abstract using English terms, consisting of 3-5 keywords. If you are author from abroad, ignore writing abstracts in Indonesian. You may leave the identity for blind review.
Keywords: Keywords should be written in both Indonesian and English. Keywords should be included to describe the research domain and the key terms underlying the activity. Keywords can consist of single words or word combinations. The number of keywords should be between 3-5 words. These keywords are required for computerization and ease of searching for the title and abstract of the research.
Introduction: This section contains the background of the research problem. Present the issue using data from credible sources. If necessary, authors can also refer to previous studies to describe the problem under investigation. This section should be written in Georgia 12 pt. After describing the problem, the author should outline the ideal conditions that should be possessed by the research object, then describe the gap that arises, and the author's ideas for addressing that gap.
Following this, the author should provide the theoretical foundation or literature review related to the problem. To ensure the quality of the article, authors should compare their research to other relevant studies. Use primary references (journals) published within the last 5 years. Citation should follow the APA 7th Edition style. The minimum number of references required is 20. If you find it necessary to cite books, try not to exceed 25% of the total references used. Use reference management applications such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero to manage citations and the Reference List.
After presenting the theoretical foundation, the author should formulate research questions to be answered. This section does not have to be in the form of questions. Authors can refer to the previous discussion and then formulate their own research problems. It's important to note that Pena only accepts research articles, not literature review articles (even if they are systematic literature reviews).
The presentation of the Introduction should be done narratively, and the use of subheadings within the Introduction is not allowed. Separation between sections should be achieved through paragraph transitions. Therefore, author creativity is highly encouraged to ensure that the sentence and paragraph structure remains coherent and easy to understand.Research Method: This section contains the methods used in the research. The key elements to be included are the research design or methodology, the population and sample (if quantitative), data collection techniques, and data analysis techniques. This section should account for a maximum of 10% of the total article content. It should be written in as much detail as possible. A well-written research method section allows readers to replicate your research steps just by reading this section.
In this section, there is no need to explain things that are commonly known, such as the definition of a sample, qualitative research methods, research hypotheses, etc. Authors also do not need to provide formulas commonly used for data analysis, such as t-test formulas, ANOVA formulas, etc.
Results and Discussion: This section is the most crucial part of the article and should comprise at least 50% of the total article content. It presents the results of data analysis (not raw data). Tables and figures can be used to support the content in this section. Use the table and figure formatting guidelines as previously outlined.
Conclusion: The conclusion should be written in a single paragraph, summarizing the research findings based on the data analysis. It should not be presented in numbered lists, and there is no need to include "Recommendations" in this section.
Acknowledgments: Express gratitude to the funding institutions that supported the research activity. Avoid expressing gratitude to individuals. This section is intended to acknowledge institutions that have contributed to the realization of the activity.
References: Citing and creating a bibliography using the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th Edition system is recommended for authors. Authors are also advised to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, etc. Only sources that are referenced or cited in the text should be included in the bibliography. The minimum number of references to be used is 20, with at least 75% of them being primary sources (academic journals) published within the last 5 years.
- Tables and Figures:Authors are allowed to include tables throughout the article. Tables used should be labeled. The label for the table is placed above the table itself. Additionally, tables should be referred to in the text. If not referenced, it means that the table is not essential to include. Place the table after it has been cited in the text, not before.
