MEKANISME POMPA NATRIUM KALIUM (Na+ - K+) PADA OSMOREGULASI IKAN BERTULANG SEJATI (TELEOSTEI)

Ikan sebagai organism yang hidup dalam media air sangat dipengaruhi oleh tekanan osmotic tubuhnya, agar proses fisiologis di dalam tubuh berjalan normal, maka diperlukan suatu tekanan osmotic yang relative konstan. Terjadinya osmoregulasi pada ikan adalah akibat adanya gradient konsentrasi ion-ion )terutama Na+ dan K+) antara intraseluler dan ekstraseluler, sehingga melalui pompa Na+ - K+ ikan akan melakukan transport aktif ion Na+ dan K+.untuk mempertahankan konsentrasi ion dalam tubuhnya sehingga fungsi fisiologis organ-organ tubuhnya dapat berjalan normal dan transport aktif ini akan mengakibatkan terjadinya konservasi energi dalam tubuh ikan.
