POTENSI SENYAWA XANTHORRHIZOL SEBAGAI ANTIFUNGI : NARATIF REVIEW

Abstract

Xanthorrhizol adalah salah satu fitokimia yang banyak diisolasi dari tanaman Curcuma xanthorrhiza berbagai yang manfaat aktivitas biologis telah dieksplorasi salah satunya sebagai antifungi. Infeksi fungi sering terjadi pada daerah tropis yang menyebabkan penyakit kulit, terjadinya banyak penyakit dan dampak buruk akibat infeksi fungi dalam jangka panjang salah satunya terjadi  resistensi obat. Mengingat jamur adalah eukariota seperti inang manusia, target terapi dan keamanan  untuk pengembangan antijamur perlu dilakukan. Maka dilakukan pencarian alternatif agen antifungi yang baru seperti  xanthorrhizol.  Pada tulisan bertujuan untuk mengkaji efek xanthorrhizol sebagai antifungi dari berbagai jenis spesies fungi. Database elektronik seperti Pubmed, ScienceDirect dan Proquest digunakan dalam penulisan ini. Pencarian jurnal dilakukan pada Bulan Mei 2023 yang fokus meneliti senyawa xanthorrhizol sebagai antifungi dengan data nilai MIC sebgai besaran aktivitasnya. Temuan dari tulisan ini menunjukkan bahwa xanthorrhizol menunjukkan penghambatan yang signifikan terhadap fungi panthogen termasuk Candida sp,  Malassezia sp, dan Aspergillus sp. Aktivitas xanthorrizol sebagai antifungi dengan menargetkan biofilm dan mengubah morfologi fungi. Efek sinergis diperlihatkan xanthorrizol jika digabungkan dengan ketokonasol dan amphotericin B.  Studi mengeksplorasi penggunaan xanthorrhizol sebagai obat potensial untuk pencegahan dan pengobatan berbagai spesias fungi telah menunjukkan hasil yang menjanjikan. Namun, lebih banyak penelitian yang perlu dilakukan terutama di bidang-bidang seperti  studi in vitro, in vivo dan klinis
