Protein Tungau Sarcoptes Scabiei Sebagai Penyebab Stres Oksidatif Pada Kulit yang Terinvestasi Parasit

Abstrak

Infestasi S. scabiei memicu banyak reaksi termasuk reaksi alergi, inflamasi, reaksi kekebalan tubuh bawaan, dan aktivasi komponen kekebalan tubuh pada kulit yang disertai tahap stress oksidatif. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menelaah karakterisasi genetik S. scabiei dan memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang interaksi parasit inang dengan penekanan khusus pada parameter stress oksidatif kulit berupa keseimbangan oksidan/antioksidan, parameter stres, dan respons kekebalan. Untuk mengetahui pengaruh infestasi S. scabiei terhadap keseimbangan oksidan/antioksidan dalam serum, digunakan penanda stres oksidatif seperti aktivitas antioksidan total (T-AOC), konsentrasi oksida nitrat total (TNO), kadar peroksida lipid, dan malonildialdehida (MDA), serta kadar enzim antioksidan; superoksida dismutase (SOD), glutathione-S-transferase (GSH) dan katalase. Stres oksidatif terbukti terlibat dalam patogenesis beberapa penyakit infeksi parasit termasuk skabies. Metabolisme sel hospes menghasilkan ROS dan RNS. Pada tingkat rendah hingga sedang, mereka terlibat dalam beberapa fungsi fisiologis termasuk sinyal sel dan fungsi kekebalan tubuh. Sebaliknya, pada tingkat tinggi, mereka menyebabkan kerusakan pada molekul termasuk lipid, protein, lipoprotein, dan asam nukleat mulai dari reaksi berantai pembentukan radikal bebas yang mengarah ke kondisi yang dikenal sebagai stres oksidatif.
