Abstract

This study aims to analyze the framing of Bitcoin news on Kompas.com and JPNN.com during the January-June 2024 period. This research refers to Entman's model framing theory, reality construction, agenda setting, gatekeeping, and hierarchy of influences. This study uses an interpretive qualitative method with a constructivist paradigm for thirty-six news consisting of eighteen news from each media. Data is collected through documentation and literature studies, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawn, and tested through data triangulation. The results of this study show that in 36 news stories for the January–June 2024 period, Kompas.com organize ETFs, halvings, price movements, supply, and macroeconomics as causal contexts, assess volatility through opportunities as well as risks, and display recommendations in the form of market understanding, DCA, and diversification, while JPNN.com more often associate industry growth, institutional acceptance, and price momentum with DCA recommendations, buy the dip,  purchase planning, as well as long-term investment in framing structures on each news analyzed.
